Habitat Restoration Volunteer, various Lake County Forest Preserve locations, almost every Saturday and many Sundays. For information on locations and schedules, click here.

Chicago Botanic Garden School offers great Gardening Classes throughout the year. Click here for the whole schedule. Highlights include:
  An Introduction to the Grasses, Monday, August 16, 23, and 30.

Regenstein Fruit & Vegetable Garden Family Drop-In Activities at the Chicago Botanic Garden, Saturdays & Sundays, through October 3, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Wild, Wild Nights at the Brookfield Zoo include dinner, conservations speakers and world-class exhibits. Continuing through October 2010.

Mammoths and Mastodons, through September 6, 2010 at the Field Museum of Chicago.

Plan now for the Friends of the Chicago River Flatwater Classic, a canoe and kayak race including both competitive teams as well as amateur paddlers, on October 3, 2010.

Fantasea, the exciting new aquatic show at the Shedd Aquarium, features dolphins, whales and penguins, and is open throughout the year.
